Getting there

Flights, trains and ways to arrive

In this guide, we'll show you how to get from the airport to your accommodation in Lisbon.

✈️ Useful Information:
Lisbon Airport has two terminals. Most international flights arrive at Terminal 1, which is where transport to the city center departs from.

If you arrive at Terminal 2 (used by low-cost airlines), don't worry: there's a free shuttle bus that runs frequently between the two terminals.

🚇 Option 1: Metro – Cheap and practical

  • Station: "Aeroporto" (red line), right outside the airport.
  • Price: €2.15 (with a rechargeable Viva Viagem card). Check our transport guide.
  • Time: 25-30 minutes.
  • ✔️ Pros: Economical and efficient.
  • ❌ Cons: Awkward with large suitcases or if you're going to areas like Belém or the upper parts of Alfama. 🥵

🚖 Option 2: Taxi – Fast but Unreliable ❌

📌 Tip:
Although convenient, some taxis have earned a bad reputation for overcharging tourists. To avoid surprises, it's better to use Uber or Bolt, which have clear pricing.
  • Price: €15-25
  • Time: 15-20 minutes

🚗 Option 3: Uber or Bolt – Modern and Reliable

  • Price: €7-12
  • Time: 15-20 minutes
  • ✔️ Pros: Cheaper than a taxi, with no surprises.
  • ✔️ Pros: Drops you off right at your accommodation's door.
  • ❌ Cons: There can be delays during rush hour.

🚐 Option 4: Private Transfer – For Groups or Total Comfort

  • Price: €20-40 per car
  • Time: 15-20 minutes
  • ✔️ Pros: Ideal for lots of luggage or large groups.
  • ❌ Cons: Not worth it if you're traveling solo or as a couple.

🤔 Which one should you choose?
